Moorland Makers

Free session every Wednesday 10am – 12noon

Moorland Community Centre, Moorland Avenue LN6 7JJ

Join a group of makers, crafters and creative friendly faces to work on your own projects, have a go at something new and make friends. Bring your own craft materials to this weekly session, or use some of the basic materials available. There will also be refreshments.

On the first Wednesday of each month, the group invite a guest maker to bring their expertise and have a go at something new.

Taiko Drumming

10.45 – 11.30am Junior Taiko (ages 7-10)

11.30am – 12.30pm Community Taiko (ages 11+ and adults)

Taiko is Japanese ensemble drumming and incorporates drumming patterns, choreographed movements and energy shouts to create powerful and exciting performances. Taiko is accessible for anyone and really fun! Join Humber Taiko for an exciting session to try this for yourself! Places are extremely limited.

Join Moorland Makers for their monthly guest artist workshop. Join Lucy aka TheHumberPrintmaker for an introduction to linocut printmaking.

In this two hour session you will be guided step by step to create your own print. Including how to transfer your own image onto lino, use specialist tools to carve your design and printing methods that you will be able to continue to practice at home.

Lucy is an artist, printmaker and teacher of art & design based in North Lincolnshire. She has a passion for preserving traditional printmaking techniques and runs her own small business creating unique letterpress prints and other printed products.

All are welcome at this session, no experience needed!

Interactive storytelling with Rhubarb Theatre: Something Wonderful (Written by Raewyn Caisley)

When a small red hen shows how brave she is, you know you’ve seen something wonderful. Join Kirsty from Rhubarb Theatre for this touching tale, as we frolic around farm, face winds, rain and hail and even meet a chicken or two!

A fun interactive family session of storytelling and linking craft. Ideal for children under 6 and their families.

A creative community event with activities and performances for everyone! 

East Alive is a new project, powered by local residents and artists in collaboration with Rooted Arts CIC, all about celebrating creativity, community, and heritage. We want to know what you envision for the future of this community space and how it could benefit you.

This project is part of research activity funded through the ICS Research Engagement Network (REN) development programme, managed, in Lincolnshire, by Lincolnshire Voluntary Engagement Team (LVET) and Lincolnshire Community Foundation (LCF) on behalf of the REN programme partners. Also kindly supported by the City of Lincoln Council.
